ALBUM OF THE MONTH: Chelsea Wolfe – Abyss (August 2015)

Chelsea Wolfe - Abyss
Chelsea Wolfe has always been one of those artists that I kept meaning to check out but for whatever reason never bothered to. This all changed when I heard the lead single “Carrion Flowers” from her latest album Abyss. The entire album is dark, mesmerizing and hauntingly beautiful. Chelsea’s vocals are deeply emotional and stand strong against the often abrasive industrial sounds strewn throughout the album. Even the albums softer tracks such as “Maw” display a soft fragility that few singers can only dream of matching. The album brings you to the deepest depths of the Abyss and back again, all while leaving you wanting more.
